Frequently Asked Questions
It is a bit daunting making a choice between all the carriages and horses, you can pretty much pick any team of horse to go with any carriage, but you do need to think about distance and time it’ll take to travel to the venue. We realise you need as much info as possible, so here’s a few Frequently Asked Questions to answer some of the most common questions.
How Far Can the Horses Travel?
Shire horses can walk a maximum distance of 5 miles in a day The Gelderlanders or Carriage Horses can cover slightly longer distances 6-7 miles
How Fast Can the Horses go?
Shire horses can walk a maximum speed of 15 minutes a mile, so if you have quite a distance to travel or time is important then maybe you should think about choosing the traditional carriage horses “gelderlanders” These can trot at a speed of 7 minutes a mile.
